Footprints in the sand   
                              모래위의 발자국

One night I had a dream.

I dreamed I was Walking along the beach with the Lord.

어느날 밤 나는 꿈을꾸었습니다 

꿈속에서 나는 주님과 함께 해변가를 걷고 있었습니다

 

Across the sky frashed scenes from my life.

하늘저편에서 나의 지나간 인생을 회상 할 수 있었습니다

 

For each scene,I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, 

one set belonged to me and the other to the Lord.

그회상의 각 장면마다 두 사람의 발자욱이 있었음을 알게되었습니다

두개의 발자욱은 나의것 이었고 또다른 두개의 발자욱은 주님의 것 이었습니다

 

When the last scene of my life flashed before me,

I looked  back at the footprints in the sand.

나의 앞에 비취어진 지나간 인생의 마지막을  보면서

나는  모래위의 발자욱 을 뒤돌아보았습니다

 

I noticed that many times along the path of my life

There was only one set of footprints.

나의 괴로웠던 삶 속에서 많은 시간들이

단 한사람의 발자국만이 남겨져 있음을 알게되었지요

 

I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest

and saddest time in my life.

그 때는   나의 삶 중에서 내가제일 낮아지고

또한 제일 슬펐던 시절이었습니다

 

This really bothered me and I questhioned the Lord about it.

그 사실에 마음이 괴로워서 주님께 여쭈어 보았습니다

 

"Lord, You said that once I decided to follow you,

You'd walk with me all the way,but I have noticed that during

the most sometimes in my life there was only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me."

주님 주님께서는 주님을 따르기로 작정만하면 나와 늘 함께 하시겠다고 말씀하셨읍니다

하지만 저의 삶속에서 제일 힘들었던때에는 단지 한사람의 발자욱만이 남아있었네요

왜 주님께서는 제가 제일로 주님이 필요로했을때 저를 떠나계셨는지 이해할 수가 없읍니다

 

The Lord replied,

"My precious,precious child, I love you and I would never leave you.

Duaring your times of trial and suffering, when you saw only one set

of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

주님께서 대답하시길

"나의 소중하고 소중한 자녀야 난 너를 사랑하며 너를 영원히 떠나지 않을것이다.

네가본 한사람의발자욱은

네삶속에서 네가 가장 힘들어할때에 내가 너를 업고 갔기때문이란다."
